The Institutes for the Teaching of Advanced Placement will hold two sessions at Oakland University in 2010. The dates are as follows: Institute 1: June 28-July 1 and Institute 2: July 19-22.
Co-sponsored by Oakland University and The College Board, these weeklong conferences offer excellent training for teachers, both with experience and new to advanced placement.
New teachers will become better informed about the fundamentals of the advanced placement programs and experienced teachers get a chance to learn about the newest trends in their content area.
Oakland University's Advanced Placement Institute is ideally suited for department chairperson, gifted and talented teachers and curriculum coordinators.

Registration Process
Registration begins March 5, 2009. Advanced registration, including all applicable tuition and fees is required. You can view and print an online version of the registration form. Send registration form from the brochure or Web site (see above) by one of the following methods:
- Mail: Send completed application form to Center for Executive and Continuing Education, 332 Elliott Hall, Oakland University, Rochester, MI 48309-4493.
- Fax: (248) 370-4963.
Once the registration form is received, students will be officially admitted to OU and registered for their course of choice. Upon admission, a Grizzly ID number, SAIL PIN number and OU e-mail address will be assigned, which will be confirmed through the mail. This letter also will contain information on how to use the OU SAIL Web site to check registration, payment and grade status and how to make payments through the eBill system.
Registration deadline is July 3, 2009. Students may withdraw from class prior to this date and receive a full tuition refund. No refunds or changes in non-credit/graduate credit status after this date.
Classes may be canceled if minimum enrollment is not met, so register early.
Payment Options
Payment is expected before class begins. Payments can be made through the following methods:
- Online Payment: Credit card or online checking or savings payment can be made online through the Student Business Services site. You will need your Grizzly ID number and six-digit SAIL PIN. The account will be credited immediately when paying by eBill. If you need to have your six-digit SAIL PIN reset, contact the Center for Executive and Continuing Education at (248) 370-3128 or sba-ce@lists.oakland.edu.
- Check Payment by Mail: All payments must be made in U.S. currency. Make checks payable to Oakland University and include the student name and Grizzly ID number. Please allow 5-6 days for mail delivery. Payment may be made to the following address: Cashier's Office, 120 North Foundation Hall, Oakland University, Rochester, MI 48309-4401.
- In Person: Payments by cash, check, VISA or MasterCard may be made in person on the Oakland University campus at the Cashier's Office and the student account will be credited immediately when paying in person. Payment may be made at the following campus address: Cashier's Office, 120 North Foundation Hall, Oakland University, Rochester, MI 48309-4401.
- Vouchers and Purchase Orders: Payment vouchers and purchase orders must be mailed to the following address: ATTENTION: THIRD PARTY BILLING, Cashier's Office, 120 North Foundation Hall, Oakland University, Rochester, MI 48309-4401.

Payments made by check, online checking or savings, or credit card that are returned by the bank are considered nonpayment and a $25 fee will be assessed. In addition, nonpayment may result in cancellation of registration. Unpaid accounts will be referred to an outside collection agency and may be assessed collection fees and court costs.

Students may check course and payment confirmation through SAIL and eBill. Unpaid students will receive billing notification via e-mail.

Course Schedule
All of our AP courses are offered at the combined level for new and experience instructors.
Tuition:
- Non-credit - $645
- OU In-State Graduate Credit - $1,022
- OU Out-of-State Graduate Credit - $1,763.00
Courses may be taken for graduate credit or on a certificate only basis. Those students taking the course for graduate credit will earn 2 credits from the appropriate department in the College of Arts and Sciences. To earn the graduate credits, student will be required to develop and submit a research paper in addition to attending the institute of choice to be eligible for a grade.
