Active Learning
As a course that fulfills the OU knowledge applications general education requirement, HRD 304: Lean Principles and Practices in Organizations is an activity-based introduction to Lean thinking in a variety of human resource development and workplace settings.
It explores an innovative way to solve some persistent problems confronting American organizations today with:
- hands-on simulations
- expert guest speakers
- on-site tours
Gain Real-Life Experience
Student teams gain real-life experience using Lean principles by completing
student projects. Host organizations invite students on site to learn about Lean concepts and application in a work setting. Recent projects were sponsored by the following companies:
- Uni-Solar
- Beaumont Hospital
- Fitzpatrick Manufacturing
- Oakland University
