In most instances, special guests, Dr. Gary Russi, and OU Trustees are provided with VIP parking spaces close to the event area. If your event is held during the week, these spaces must be requested, well in advance of the event, by emailing Lt. Mel Gilroy, Public Safety at
megilroy@oakland.edu for approval.
Your department must notify those receiving VIP parking spaces by telephone or with a follow-up note mailed at least one week prior to the event, to inform the guest of the lot number and a general description of its location.
For large events held at Meadow Brook Hall or the Shotwell Gustafson Pavilion,
valet parking can be used. Valet companies usually expect to have a check waiting for them on the night of the event.
IMPORTANT: Please note that OUPD must be made known of all events that are being held on campus. Do not assume they are aware of the event.
