Kristine M. Diaz, Psy.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Biomedical Sciences at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine

Dr. Diaz joined OUWB in the Fall of 2012 upon completion of a postdoctoral fellowship in health psychology from Michigan State University. She is a graduate of the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Diaz completed her pre-doctoral internship at Gateway Foundation-Cook County Jail in Chicago, Illinois.

During her fellowship, Dr. Diaz was awarded a grant from Michigan State University’s Office of Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives to organize a day-long training on cultural diversity for MSU FAME affiliated resident physicians, fellows, faculty, physicians, psychologists, MSU medical students, and staff.

At OUWB, Dr. Diaz teaches the Behavioral Science course as well as behavioral science-related topics and clinical interviewing skills development throughout the curriculum. She is the co-chair of OUWB’s Diversity Council and Chair of the Interprofessional Education Collaborative ad hoc committee, and CAPSTONE mentor for medical students on their CAPSTONE projects. Lastly, Dr. Diaz has presented on diversity in medical education at international, national and regional conferences.
