• Google Sync for Mobile Devices

1. Google Sync is only supported on Apple iOS versions 3.0 and above. You can check your current version by going to Settings > General > About > Version.

• If you're running an iOS before 3.0, upgrade to the latest iOS on Apple's site: http://www.apple.com/ios/ before setting up Google Sync.

2. Perform a sync with iTunes to ensure that Contacts and Calendars from your iOS device are backed up to your computer.

• Google Sync can sync up to 25 Google Calendars with the Calendar app on your iOS device (your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch).

To sync your Apple device, follow these steps:

• Sync your account with Google: https://netid.oakland.edu/profile/ Click on and complete Gmail IMAP/POP Password Syncronize Utility

• To create an account on the apple device, click the Settings icon
• Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
• Add Account....
• Select Microsoft Exchange
• Enter email - netID username including '@oakland.edu'
• Domain - oakland.edu
• Server - m.google.com
• Password - Must be at least 8 alphanumeric characters long
• Turn off Mail and Contacts and confirm that Calendars is turned ON and click Save

• Open the Safari browser on your device and go to http://m.google.com/sync

• Scroll to the bottom and click the link at m.google.com to Configure your domain

• Scroll down and select the box Google Apps user? Tap to configure for your domain.

• Enter oakland.edu and click Go

• Next select the calendar icon

• For Google Apps Users (Webmail) go to https://www.google.com/calendar/hosted/gp/oakland.edu

• Enter your NetID username and password
• Click Done and the Sign On button

• Scroll down to Settings

• Check the box to select the calendars you would like to view on the device and close the browser

• Open the Calendar application on the iPhone
• Select Calendars on the top left corner to view all accessible calendars
• Check the calendars you would like to view
• Click Done to return to the calendar
