Job Title: Chief, Land Management Technologies
Job Description: Spend a day with the award-winning Oakland County Department of Information Technology.
The Chief of Land Management Technologies is responsible for the management, coordination, policies, standards and outreach of the County's enterprise (County and CVT) GIS program, Tax and Assessment systems, Asset Management Systems, Health applications, and other related applications. Other responsibilities include the formulation of business strategies that incorporate the County's and CVTs overall operating efficiency, the development of information plans, associated policies and budgets, geographic technology investments and agency-wide information products and technology requirements. Based on your interests, activities will be structured to potentially include:
- Interaction with employees responsible for the development and implementation of applications and software for County Departments and the Public
- Exposure to formal Project Management methodology and practices, and portfolio management techniques
- Interaction with County officials and County Department representatives to gain an understanding of how technology is used to improve government efficiency and productivity
Knowledge, Skills, and Expectations:
- Pursuing a degree with concentration in political science, public administration, information technology, business or communications.
- Understanding of Local/County Government functions.
- Proven written, oral, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Must dress in professional attire.
