COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Trust is an essential component of a healthy interpersonal relationship in society. Trust in general, is an important ingredient in the functioning of social relationships, and due to the transitory nature of many relationships, establishing trust takes on a heightened significance. The key to a trusting relationship is communication. Due to an increasingly diverse and multicultural workforce, the need to understand how trust develops is imperative so that individuals can cultivate a relationship that promotes trust. In this course, the student will be empowered to foster a trusting relationship by providing knowledge and skills that will facilitate trust throughout their lifespan. This will be accomplished by presenting concepts, methods, and theories in trust and how these concepts, methods, and theories can be applied in various settings and environments to facilitate and maintain trusting relationships.
