Summer Student Campus Corps Internship Program (SSCC)
Summer internships are available to returning Oakland University undergraduate Michigan residents enrolled at least half time for the preceding winter semester and registered at least half time for the following fall semester in a degree seeking program. Departments can submit proposals for project-based jobs which will mentor the skills of undergraduates to obtain relevant job experience and earn wages. Projects must be outside the scope of routine positions traditionally offered by the hiring department. Students in the program can work up to 40 hours per week and up to 17 weeks within the employment date range posted for the summer semester, depending on the needs of the project. The campus Corps rate of pay is set by the hiring department but must be between $7.40 and $10 per hour.
SSCC funding can be requested by departments by completing an SSCC Application and Requisition form found on the
OUCareerLink homepage under "Announcements: after logging into the site as an employer. Use the "Register" button to create a login profile if your department does not have one. Submit a separate application for each project. Approval for funding will be evaluated on:
- Uniqueness of the project (non-routine; not general office work)
- Work to be accomplished (project goals)
- One-time or new initiatives
Departments will receive notice of approval/denial of SSCC project funding from Financial Services Student Employment. If approved for funding, the hiring department is required to post the job on
OUCareerLink using the "jobs" tab.
