Lynda Misra, DO, FACP, MEd.

Lynda Misra DO, FACP, MEd is the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Clinical Education at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. She serves as the Director of Students at Beaumont Health System. Dr. Misra received her medical degree from Michigan State University and completed her residency training and chief resident year at Beaumont Hospital. She has been a member of the academic faculty in the Department of Internal Medicine for the past 15 years. Dr. Misra completed her Masters in Higher Education at the University of Michigan in 2010 with emphasis on curricular design, instructional methods and techniques in professional education, and educational research.

Omar Brown-El
Director of the Center for Multicultural Initiatives

Oakland University

Omar Brown-El is the Director of the Center for Multicultural Initiatives at Oakland Univeristy. His work focuses on designing, implementing and evaluating university-wide student recruitment and retention support programs and services to specifically support the university's mission and goal of achieving and graduating a diverse student body. Mr. Brown-El also concentrates on advocating for systematic change within the institution and on building internal and external relationships with faculty, staff and the OU community to help all students, but particularly underrepresented students, succeed.

Monty Fakhouri, MS
Director of Public Health and Youth Services

Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC)

Monty Fakhouri currently serves as the Director of Public Health and Youth Services at the Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC). He is also an adjunct faculty member in the Health Sciences Graduate Program at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Mich., serves as a contingent, part time Minority Outreach Program Coordinator at Beaumont Hospital’s Cancer Institute – Oncology Services. Mr. Fakhouri holds Bachelors of Science degrees in Biology and Chemistry and a Master’s of Science in Community Medicine (Public Health) from Wayne State University. Mr. Fakhouri’s has served as the Principle Investigator on the Cancer Communications Project and the Better Youth through Better Parents Project. He also served as Co- Investigator on the Hepatitis C in the Arab/Chaldean Community in Southeastern Michigan Project and the Assessment of the Perceived Susceptibility of Breast Cancer and Perceived Benefits of Brest Cancer Screening among Arab and Chaldean American Women in the Tri-County Area. He is a Certified Health Education Specialist and is the recipient of the Robert Wood Johnson 2006 Community Health Leadership Award.

Celeste Farr
Assistant Professor of Public Health

Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine

Dr. Farr's educational background began in Organizational Communication and Psychology at Eastern Michigan University. From there, she attended Michigan State University, and earned a Ph.D. while discovering a love for Health Communication. That love lead her to the field of Public Health, so she earned her Masters in Public Health from University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. Presently, Dr. Farr’s research utilizes her expertise in health communication, health behavior and health education, research methods, and program evaluation to seek resolutions for the disparities in health faced by African American women. She is a trained focus group moderator and uses both qualitative and quantitative methods to develop and test theories, interventions, and campaigns that address the underlying cultural values, attitudes, norms and beliefs of women while considering their social, cultural and economic contexts, increasing her ability to predict and control factors that differentially affect the health of women.

Lauren Hill
Corporate Director, Diversity and Staff Development

Beaumont Health System

Lauren leads and champions Beaumont’s diversity mission and business objectives throughout the Beaumont organization. She is also responsible for identifying and coordinating learning and development needs and opportunities for staff and leaders. Lauren has been with Beaumont for seven years. Prior to Beaumont, she worked for Henry Ford Health System, McLaren Regional Medical Center, and St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital as Director of Human Resources. Lauren received her Bachelors degree from Wayne State University in Journalism/Communications. She leads and participates in a number of system strategic committees and served as an Inaugural Class Admissions Committee member for the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Lauren volunteers, supports, and has received awards from a number of community organizations. Currently, she serves as a member of the Michigan Hispanic Chamber, Chaldean American Chamber, Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council, Council of Supplier Diversity Professionals, Arab American Chamber, Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion, YMCA Minority Achievers, North Oakland NAACP, OCEDC (Oakland County Employment Diversity Council) and the Race Relations and Diversity Taskforce to name a few.

Rennard Tucker, M.D.
Chief of Diagnostic Ultrasound, Department of Radiology

Beaumont Health System

Rennard Tucker MDDr. Rennard Tucker earned a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Michigan and is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency training at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center and a one-year cross-sectional body imaging fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital. He was formerly Director of Ultrasound and Vice-Chief of the Department of Radiology at Detroit Receiving Hospital/Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Tucker joined the department of radiology at William Beaumont Hospital as Chief of Diagnostic Ultrasound in 2003. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Dr. Tucker's primary area of interest is application of various modalities in body imaging including CAT scans and, particularly, ultrasound. He enjoys mentoring opportunities and sharing his professional and educational experiences to help other attain their goals and aspirations.
