• When can I sign up for the Bike Loan Lottery? Registration for the lottery is open form 12:01am on Wednesday, September 5 until 11:59pm on Tuesday, September 11. Students who registers for the program after September 11 will be placed on a waiting list in the order received.


• What is the length of time that the bikes are checked out?  Bikes are available for students to check out beginning September 13 and must be returned no later than December 8.


• What if I decide I do not want the bike until December 8?  A bike may be returned at anytime during the semester prior to December 8.


• What is the cost to participate in the Bike Loan Program? There is no cost to participate in the program provided the bike is returned in good working order with normal wear and tear. Students may be held accountable up to $200 for failing to return the bike or retuning the bike with evidence of misuse or abuse.  Bikes are inspected upon check-out and return.
  


• How do I find out the results of the Bike Loan Lottery?  Students selected in the lottery or who are on the wait list when bikes become available will be contacted via e-mail to make an appointment to check out the bike.


• Do I need to purchase a bike lock before being issued a bike?  Students will receive a lock and bike upon check out. They will be responsible for the operation and security of the bike while in their possession.


• What happens if the bike breaks down due to normal wear and tear?  If the bike is in need of repair, it should be returned to the Recreation Center. Normal repairs will be covered by the program. Any out of pocket expenses will not be reimbursed without prior approval. A replacement bike will be issued only if one is available.


• If I am on the wait list, does that give me priority in the Winter Semester?  This program will be for Fall Semester 2012. The wait list will not carry over to Winter 2013. A new registration period for a lottery and wait list will be announced a t a later date for spring.


• How do I sign up for the Bike Loan Lottery?  In order to register for the lottery students may do so by two methods:
  

• In person at the Recreation Center Welcome Desk
  
• Using the Campus Recreation on line registration system
  
  • The online process require a valid login which can be obtained by going to the Rec Center home page and completing a request (please allow 2-3 business days) http://www.oakland.edu/campusrec/
    
  • Once the login is received, simply click through the buttons on the main page to complete the registration. Please note: You will not be able to register online without obtaining a login first.
