New for Fall Semester, 2012, a short term bike loan program has been established. The Bike Loan program is for students who wish to check out a bike for a semester. 50 Schwinn bikes have been purchased and will be available for check out at the Recreation Center. Included in the no cost check out will be the bike and a lock. Students will receive an information sheet when they check out the bikes with the expectations of the program. Provided that the bikes are returned with reasonable wear and tear, in good working order, there will no charge. However, students may be held accountable for misuse, abuse or failing to return the bikes up to $200 on a case by case basis.

• Students may sign up for the lottery to check out a bike by:

• In person at the Recreation Center Welcome Desk during operational hours
• Using the online registration system of the Department of Campus Recreation*

• Sign up to participate in the lottery will be accepted until 11:59pm on Tuesday, September 11.
  
• On Wednesday, September 12, a lottery draw will be conducted to determine those who will have the first chance to check out a bike and the order of others for a waiting list.
  
• After the random draw, anyone wishing to sign up for the program may do so by either method and will be placed on the wait list in the order in which they are received.
  
• Those selected to check out a bike will be contacted and will be able to pick up their bike beginning September 13.
