Lean Principles and Practices in Organizations
HRD 304 - Winter 2010

Lean Principles and Practices in Organizations is an activity-based introduction to lean principles and practices in a variety of human resource development and workplace settings. HRD 304 explores an innovative way to solve some persistent problems confronting American organizations today with:
  • hands-on simulations
  • expert guest speakers
  • on-site tours

Learning Lab, Student Projects
The Pawley Institute Learning Lab is a virtual learning environment where undergraduate and graduate students implement lean principles and practices to develop performance solutions for corporate partners. This environment provides another opportunity to integrate lean principles and practices into the undergraduate and graduate curriculum.

Students working individually or in teams use lean tools (i.e. process and value stream mapping, kaizen circle activities, gap analysis) to develop and provide performance solutions for companies in need.
