Career Services is proud to offer workshops that will engage students in a fun, interactive way on career-related topics that will prepare for the career journey. You can select one of seven different topics to be presented to
your student organization, residence hall, classroom, co-op, club,
chapter, team, group or department!
These workshops are an exciting
new (and very free) way for your organization or group to provide a
valuable student focused service to participants – in the comfort of
your own dorm/apartment, weekly meeting room, classroom, or (just about)
anywhere else. And you can do it when it is convenient for you and your
group!

OUCareerLink
:
This workshop will help students who are unfamiliar with OUCareerLink, and allow them to complete the registration process, upload documents, and find an internship or job!
Career Services 411
:
This overview session will explain all the services offered by the Career Services office including the 4-Year Career Map,
interviewing skills, resume writing, career events, internships, and
more.
"Hire" Fashion
:
This workshop addresses the importance of proper dress as it relates to
interviewing. Learn important tips for both women and men on clothing,
hair, accessories, and dressing on a budget. Play “Hired or Fired? You
be the Judge!” to view real samples of interviewing attire.
Interview IQ
:
This workshop is designed to help you learn how to prepare for the
interview in terms of researching yourself, thinking about why an
employer would want to hire you, researching the employer, knowing what
to expect in an interview, how to dress properly, and how to utilize the
STAR model when answering questions. The workshop will cover typical
interview questions, questions you might wish to ask the employer, steps
to take following the interview.
Right Resume
:
Did you know employers spend 15 seconds reading a resume? Is your worth
being read? The Resume Writing workshop involves a discussion of the
purpose of a resume, the various sections within a resume, different
resume styles, and strategies for formatting your resume. Writing cover
letters and developing lists of references are also part of this
hour-long workshop.
Internship Insider:
Are you wondering what you should be doing to find an internship? Where
to look? How to start the process? This workshop covers the what,
why, when, how and where of obtaining an internship.
Salary Negations:
How do you respond when an employer asks what salary are you seeking?
This workshop covers the steps of negotiating, the research needed, the
value of benefits and salary information websites.
