Selecting a major and/or a career is no easy task and often takes time to fully explore all of the options available and how they relate to your interests, personality, skills and values. Your academic adviser can be instrumental in helping you through this process through major exploration and career counseling appointments. During these appointments, your adviser may recommend that you complete one or more of the following assessment instruments:
- Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI): The MBTI is one of the most researched personality instruments whose results can help you better understand yourself and identify career options that suit your personality.
- Strong Interest Inventory (SII): The SII helps identify your interests so that you can explore career options that will allow you to do what you enjoy most.
- Skills Search Assessment: This assessment is designed to help you use your skill set (or skills you plan to acquire) to identify occupations for exploration.
