Welcome fellow alumni and friends of the School of Education and Human Services!
As a proud alumnus of the School of Education and Human
Services, I am thrilled to be a part of the bright future of the School.
We have just completed our tenth year in the Pawley Hall, it seems like
it was just yesterday we were moving into the newest building on this
great campus. We are very appreciative to have a wonderful facility to
use for teaching future leaders in education and human services.
In an increasingly fast-paced, competitive workforce, the
pursuit of a college degree offers students the critical learning
opportunities needed to ensure personal success and achievement
throughout their professional careers. The education that a student
receives during their time at Oakland University represents the
foundation upon which we build a new generation of civic and business
leaders throughout Michigan and beyond.
In recent years, philanthropic giving has played an
increasingly vital role in higher education, providing much-needed funds
that touch the lives of countless students in a variety of ways,
ranging from scholarships that expand access to higher education to the
creation of innovative new programs and outreach efforts that help
students develop the skills needed to succeed in the workforce after
graduation.
My vision for the development office is bridging relevant
opportunities with your passion. One of the key items I hear from alumni
is the great experience OU provided and the desire to give back. We
have opportunities for alumni such as yourself to volunteer to speak to a
class. Faculty would love to hear from you. Encourage a student by
being involved in mentorships or programs. And you can do this while
sharing your successes along the way.
Thank you to SEHS donors, alumni and friends who have
contributed to the School’s departments, centers of excellence and
scholarships. Your gifts continue to make a lasting difference, enabling
students to reach their higher education goals and
providing faculty the necessary support to work with
colleagues and students to research innovative ways to solve today’s and
tomorrow’s challenges.
Stay tuned for more exciting news and opportunities coming
soon. In the meantime, I’d love to hear from you. I can be reached at dmtindal@oakland.edu or at 284-370-4233. I look forward to meeting many of you and hearing your stories and memories of your time at OU.
