"New Faculty" Workshop

 Getting Started:
What Every New Faculty Wished they had Learned Before Classes Began!

Oakland Center - Gold Rooms 

8:30 a.m. thru 4:00 p.m.

We want your first year to be a welcoming, successful experience at Oakland University. As you join the OU community and family, we encourage you to participate in this interactive day. You will learn about and tour the campus, gain ideas for teaching and learning, understand our student population, learn about the supports and resources available to faculty and students, and meet with new and not-so-new faculty.

8:30 - 9:00 Registration and breakfast
9:00 - 10:00 Welcome: Teaching and Learning = Learning and Teaching
10:00 - 11:30 Campus Tour - Part 1: Meet w/ CETL, Instructional Technology + password pickup
11:30 - 12:30 Who are our Students and how do they Learn? + Student Support Services Panel,
Dean of Students, Counseling Center, Writing Center, Tutorial Center, Disability Support Services
12:30 - 2:00 Lunch with Faculty Panel + Round Table Discussion
2:00 - 3:30 Campus Tour - Part 2 - meet with e-Learning + Library Services
3:30 - 4:00 Recreation Center + Activity
4:00 - 4:30 Wrap-Up
