OUWB School of Medicine First Year Perspectives
A look back on the first year of the new Oakland University William Beaumont School of medicine and its monumental achievements. Nationally known fiction writer and Kalamazoo native, Bonnie Joe Campbell, visits Oakland University's campus to read from her published works: two short story collections and two novels.
This award ceremony celebrates clerical staff members who have demonstrated devotion to outstanding service at Oakland University. Established in honor of Sharon L. Wilhelm, who served the University in various support and administrative roles for 45 years, the award celebrates her extraordinary work ethic and supportive can-do attitude. The award recognizes eligible employees who provide high-level administrative support and mirror Mrs. Wilhelm’s exemplary work standards.
Poetry lovers, English majors, OU alumni, and enjoyers of festive celebrations gathered to are thumb their noses at tax day by participating in the 14th annual Poetry Bash. Participants read a variety of famous and original work, sharing their love of poetry by showcasing their favorite poems.

The Keeper of the Dream Award was established in January 1993 to recognize Oakland University students who have contributed to interracial understanding and good will. Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement (a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 at time of application), a clear career focus and academic persistence (student must be returning to Oakland in the fall and winter semester of the following academic year).
