This was a year marked by outstanding involvement and support from alumni and our community of friends, led by the following initiatives.
Energy Foundation grant brings professor to OU to explore
automotive industry, environmental performance


Within weeks of joining Oakland University’s School of Business Administration (SBA) faculty, Research Professor Walter McManus was sharing his expertise with OU and automotive industry representatives as a speaker at an SBA “Focus on the Future” automotive research conference.
Parents’ gift supports late professor’s passion for travel, teaching

The $50,000 gift from Professor Emeritus Joan Rosen and her husband, Robert, to the Joan Rosen Endowed Fund will help further the mission of the center, supporting its day-to-day efforts to help produce polished, effective writing projects for those who use the center.

Charitable annuity ensures mission of OU Athletic Department


In the face of recent state funding cuts, it has become more important for Oakland University to have reliable sources of support — now and in the future. It was good news for the Athletics Department when it learned that George and Janice Kralovich set up a charitable gift annuity, which will ultimately benefit scholar-athletes and coaches.

Christine WilcoxOakland University was a magical place to Christine and Ivan Wilcox. The Wilcoxes, now deceased, were enamored with the beauty of the campus for decades and went horseback riding on the land where Oakland’s campus sits today.

A$100,000 award from the Charles E. Schell Foundation, presented by foundation trustee Fifth Third Bank, will allow the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine to offer students no-interest, moral obligation loans.
