The Drupal drop
We build sites with
Drupal, a powerful content management system (CMS). ATiB students receive special Drupal training during their two years in the program.
Drupal is open source. That means it's free. Woo hoo! It's fast, and secure. The
White House has a Drupal site. Yes,
that White House. Think anyone has tried to hack that site? Hmm...
Drupal runs well on cheap Web hosting accounts. They cost under $20 per
month. Drupal scales well if you need extra horsepower. However, for
every company we've worked with so far, cheap hosting has been enough.
Cheap is good!
Ze ATiBerz! Zey do ze art
not know. Phhht!
There are some extra costs. Hey, we're a business school. We know marketing, HR, IT geekery, and such, but we're not artists. We ask companies we work with to buy professional Drupal themes, with attractive graphics, good color and font selection, and other artsy touches. Themes cost from about $50 to about $300.
Companies often buy stock photos as well. The days of spending hundreds of dollars for a single photo are gone. Competition on the Web is fierce, and prices have fallen sharply. Maybe $200 will buy rights to
all of the photos for a complete Web site.
The main expense is the cost of ATiB sponsorship itself. There are various price points, with most projects coming in between $3,000 and $6,000. You get a front end, a back end, training, and help putting the site on a hosting account.
