For the first time in its history The Honors College honored its 2013
graduates during a champagne reception in Oakland University's newly renovated
Banquet Rooms due to the large number of graduates! Students and their guests
lunched and visited with fellow students, parents, OU Administrators,
faculty, alumni and staff compliments of a generous donation from Mr.
and Mrs. George Seifert.
Each student was recognized for their thesis project and
special awards were given in Biological Sciences to David Tobin and
Trung Tran, in the Arts to Olivia Marsh and Jason Storms, in Computer
Science and Engineering to Michael Lohrer, for Academic Achievement to
Rachel Butler and for Honors College Service to Fara Di Noto.
Additionally, 13 projects were named "Thesis with Distinction".
Students received a certificate of graduation from the Honors College
and an Honors College key chain purchased with funds graciously donated
from the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester.
Following the ceremony, graduating students presented the
Honors College staff with a commemorative, engraved plaque to hang in our new offices
in fall 2014.
