Printing in Oakland University’s open computer labs in O'Dowd Hall, Elliott Hall, Pawley Hall, Kresge Library and the Oakland Center costs 10 cents per page (black & white only). Please note pricing may very by lab and print options.
Registered OU Students
At the start of each semester for which you have registered, you will receive $2.50 free prints in a print account on your SpiritCard. Unused free prints will carry over to the next term registered through the end of the summer semester.
- When the free allocation is depleted, students must deposit money in their SpiritCash account before printing.
- Make SpiritCash deposits at value transfer stations near the computer labs.
- You can check your SpiritCard account for your SpiritCash balance at a value transfer station.
Computer Lab Guests
Cooley Law students, Macomb Community College students and walk-ins are considered guests. Guests need to purchase guest cards in order to print.
Computer lab guests may purchase guest cards at SpiritCash value transfer stations to use for printing.
- Guest cards cost $1.
- Guests can deposit any amount desired on a guest card.
- Guest cards are reusable and money may be added to cards already purchased.
- Guest cards are not redeemable for cash.
- OU is not responsible for lost or damaged cards.
- Refunds for unused balance are not available.
- Card will be voided after two years of inactivity.
Lost guest cards may be returned to the SpiritCard Office, 112 Oakland Center.
How to Print
The following is an overview of using the PrintWise system in OU’s open computer labs. For instructions specific to each computer lab, please see the lab instruction sheet or lab manager.
- Select Print Preview from the file menu of the computer to review your print job before printing (additional print management tips are available on this website).
- To print, click the Print icon in the upper left corner.
- Go to a printer release station.
- Confirm your print job.
- Swipe your SpiritCard or guest card.
- Collect your document.
