DESCRIPTION
This class will acquaint students with the basic protections and restrictions of First Amendment law as they apply in the twenty-first century. After framing the historical context of the law, the instructors will guide the students in explorations of how the law applies to current societal practices and debates. Particular attention will be given to the unique situations created by new media.

*This course will satisfy the Writing Intensive in the Gen Ed requirement.
