Graduate Certificates

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Oakland University offers the following graduate certificate programs to recognize technical specialization areas of advanced study.

  • Networking and Systems
  • Software Practice
  • Information Systems & Applications
  • Intelligent Systems

Each graduate certificate requires 16 credits in 500 and 600 level coursework. (See program flyer for details.) This program is open to students with a Bachelors degree in computer or a related field. To receive the certificate, the student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA in the courses taken for the certificate.

Should a student become interested in pursuing both a certificate and a master's degree, up to 12 certificate credits may be used to satisfy a master's degree in Computer Science or Software and Information Technology pending on approval of the department and the OU graduate school.
