The CSE department offers two undergraduate programs:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and
- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.
The program in Computer Science (CS) prepares students for professional practice in systems programming, software design and computer applications, or for graduate study in computer science. The program provides a solid foundation based on the organization, processing and display of information. The major in Computer Science is accredited by the ABET Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC). |
|
| The program in Information Technology (IT) prepares students for a professional career in IT. The program provides students with sufficient technical strength and a comprehensive understanding of information technology practice in context to act as problem solvers in various settings. The program emphasizes hands-on experience and requires students to participate in industrial internships or industry-sponsored projects. Being a new program, the program is not yet accredited by ABET. |
"Computer Science is fun, but it's not all smartphones
and lattes. Program coding, testing and debugging are
notoriously challenging, and the mathematics behind
computing can be complicated.
The future looks bright because my upcoming
IT degree represents especially appropriate
education for the times... the Information Age.
Practically every job out there requires
computer knowledge."
