Are you a student on the Oakland University campus looking for a part-time job on campus? The OU Telefund might be the place for you! Telefund employment will enhance your resume by adding conversational training, fund-raising skills and public relations experience. The program seeks energetic, dependable student employees each semester to contact OU alumni across the nation about University programs and to invite their support.
Shift Requirements and Work Schedule
Employment for the Spring Telefund will begin January 22nd and run through April 28th. Callers will select hours to work at the beginning of Telefund based on their individual availability. Student employees are required to adhere to all University work policies, as well as special work policies outlined by the Telefund staff.
Available shifts:
Monday through Thursday, 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Sundays (two shifts) 1:30 - 5 p.m. and 5- 9 p.m.
Training
To become a knowledgeable student caller for OU, new callers receive paid training. During training sessions, callers learn fund-raising techniques, how to use the automated dialing system for recording call outcomes, and lots of information about the OU campus, colleges and programs. Extended and advanced training is provided to keep callers growing in their performance.
Day 1 Training - 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Day 2 Training - 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Student chooses one training shift
Some alternative Day 2 shifts are available 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Salary and Hiring Information
Student employees are paid every two weeks through the OU biweekly payroll system. Current salary is $9.00 per hour for callers.
Student employees must prove eligibility for employment at the time of interview. This requires presenting a physical copy of a valid driver’s license, Social Security card, valid passport, birth certificate or other official documentation, and proof of enrollment at OU, OU-Macomb, or O2O for a minimum of 2 classes.
The above proof of eligibility and all mandatory paperwork needs to be submitted prior to training to be eligible to work.
