Group Exercise Instruction Course
Usually offered during summer sessions...
Potential group fitness instructors are taught comprehensive practical components and teaching skills needed to successfully lead group exercise classes in a variety of formats. The training course consists of weekly presentations, master classes, and evaluative feedback. Participants have the opportunity to ask questions and participate in group fitness classes and practice sessions outside of class time. This training course requires a significant time commitment from all participants. The Group Fitness Instruction course is available for academic credit (EXS 203 and 205) or non-credit through Campus Recreation. No teaching experience is required, however it is expected that potential instructors will have taken group exercise classes prior to the beginning of the course.
Persons interested in taking this course for either credit or non-credit should contact Becky at lewis236@oakland.edu or 248-370-4910.
