Fred Love
, resident of Waterloo, Ontario has performed over 90 leading roles in opera, operetta and musical theatre.

He has starred as Old Deuteronomy in CATS, Fred/Petruchio in KISS ME KATE at the Sunshine Theatre Festival in Orillia, as Archibald in THE SECRET GARDEN at Thousand Islands Playhouse and Huron Country Playhouse, THE BEST OF BROADWAY and Frederick in THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE for Toronto Operetta Theatre.

His credits include: Ravenal in SHOW BOAT on Broadway at the Shubert Theatre, Sky Masterson in GUYS AND DOLLS and Freddy in MY FAIR LADY for Stage West Calgary, Tony for Manitoba Theatre Centre's production of MASTER CLASS with Jackie Burroughs as Maria Callas, Count Ludovic in PASSION at Canadian Stage Company, Dr. Jack in JOHNNY BELINDA for the Charlottetown Festival, Billy Crocker in ANYTHING GOES, Huron Country Playhouse, Danilo and Camille in THE MERRY WIDOW (TOT, Michigan Opera Theatre – [opposite Roberta Peters], Kansas City Lyric, Jersey Opera Festival), Gabey in ON THE TOWN with the Hamburg Opera and Ballet (Germany), Sam in STREET SCENE for Theater des Westens (Berlin), Juan Peron in EVITA for Drayton Festival and Perchik in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF for the Stratford Festival. He has sung for the opera companies of Houston Grand, Orlando, Anchorage, Santa Fe, Memphis, Costa Mesa, Chautauqua & Michigan Opera Theatre, Texas Opera Theatre, Florida Grand Opera, and Opera Pacific.

Mr. Love has also been a past winner of the Metropolitan Opera Auditions and a finalist in the Belvedere International Opera Competition, Vienna, Austria. In addition, he heads the Music Theatre/Voice Division at Oakland University in Michigan, and has taught voice at Sheridan College, (Oakville, Ontario) in the Musical Theatre Program.

Mr. Love holds degrees from Stetson University (BM - Voice Performance and Church Music), and the University of Arizona (Master of Music and Doctoral studies – Voice Performance with minors in vocal pedagogy and stage directing). His students have appeared on Broadway, National Tours and in many regional theatres.
