SpiritCash is a fast, easy and convenient alternative to carrying cash on campus. By activating your SpiritCash account, you can use your SpiritCard as a pre-paid debit card for on-campus purchases. Each time you make a purchase using your SpiritCard, your SpiritCash account is debited. With the SpiritCash feature, you also can take advantage of periodic promotions and discounts.
There is no minimum amount needed to open a SpiritCash account. Funds in your SpiritCash account carry over from semester to semester and year to year. Your SpiritCash account is separate from your meal plan or your SpiritCard PLUS banking feature. The appropriate account is debited when you use your card.
You will receive a receipt indicating your SpiritCash balance each time you make deposits or purchases. You also will receive a statement each month there is activity in your account to help you keep track of spending.
How do I activate my SpiritCash account?
Activating your SpiritCash account is as simple as making a deposit. To make a SpiritCash deposit:
- visit the ID Card Office, 112 Oakland Center, during regular business hours, or
- use the Value Transfer Stations located next to the ATM in the Oakland Center, across from the circulation desk at Kresge Library, or in the student lounge at Elliott Hall.
OU faculty and staff also may automatically deposit funds into their SpiritCash accounts by completing a SpiritCash Payroll Deduction Authorization Form.
