Vonda Douglas-Nikitin, MD
Assistant Dean, Diversity & Inclusion
Vonda K. Douglas-Nikitin, Assistant Dean for Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, also serves as the Medical Director of the Flow Cytometry Laboratory and the Program Director of the Hematopathology Fellowship in the Department of Pathology at Beaumont Health System. Dr. Douglas-Nikitin received both her medical degree and residency training in Anatomic and Pathology from the University of Michigan, and her fellowship training in Hematopathology from Northwestern University. Prior to her appointment at Beaumont Health System, Dr. Douglas-Nikitin served as Assistant Dean for Minority Affairs and Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine.

Caryn Reed-Hendon, MA
Director of Diversity & Inclusion
Ms. Reed-Hendon obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and her Master of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University. She is currently an Educational Leadership Doctoral candidate at Oakland University, with an anticipated graduation date of 2013.
Ms. Reed-Hendon came to the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine from the University of Michigan-Dearborn where she served as Assistant Director for Orientation Programs for over five years. She has over ten years of higher education experience specifically in the area of Student Services. She has served on a number of professional educational committees and has worked collaboratively to present materials at regional and national conferences. Ms. Reed Hendon’s memberships include: National Association of Minority Medical Educators, King Chavez Parks Future Faculty Fellows, and NASPA: Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education.
Caryn Reed Hendon oversees the day-to-day operations of programs, diversity and inclusion survey and research information and is responsible for recruitment and outreach programs that include pipeline and outreach initiatives. She also showcases diversity and inclusion topics and hosts school-wide events for students, staff and faculty.

Kimberly L. Martin, MBA
Coordinator for Diversity and Inclusion
Kimberly L. Martin, Coordinator for Diversity and Inclusion, is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she obtained her Bachelor of General Studies degree, and Clark Atlanta University, where she received a Master’s in Business Administration.
Prior to joining the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, Ms. Martin was an Admissions and Financial Literacy Advisor at Terra State Community College in Fremont, OH. Ms. Martin has over 15 years’ experience in a variety of student affairs roles, including multicultural affairs, leadership development, curriculum development, service learning, and academic advising. She has served on local, regional, and national professional development conference committees, and has traveled to other countries in order to study different systems of higher education. Her passion is working to assist students in the progression of their goals, both on the undergraduate and graduate levels. Specifically, Ms. Martin is committed to the field of student development in all its forms, and supports it through professional association involvement, research, consulting, and writing for publication.
