Oakland University is a leading center of performing arts education
where musicians, actors, dancers, designers, arts educators and
researchers learn together in a collaborative, supportive and innovative
environment. Students choose Oakland Music, Theatre and Dance for the
excellence of the faculty and programs. More than 160 faculty and staff
serve about 450 majors enrolled in 17 degree programs (BA, BM, MM,
Ph.D.), produce more than 150 performances, and serve approximately
3,000 non-majors and community members annually. Music, Theatre and
Dance alumni are working professionals â in major opera houses, on
Broadway, in touring and dance companies, teaching in studios, Kâ12
schools, universities and pursuing prestigious graduate degrees. Oakland's performing arts programs are fully accredited by the National
Association of Schools of Music, National Association of Schools of
Theatre and National Association of Schools of Dance.
