Physician Assistant Competitive Admissions
What is Competitive Admission?
The competitive admission track is an option for currently enrolled Health Sciences students who are interested in applying to the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program at Wayne State University. 

Competitive Admissions Requirements
  • Minimum overall OU GPA of 3.3 in the first year and a cumulative OU GPA of 3.5 thereafter
  • All non-pre-physician assistant course work must be completed with a grade of "C" (2.0) or higher
  • All pre-physician assistant coursework must be completed with a grade of "B" (3.0) or higher
  • Transfer courses may need to be reviewed for transferability
  • Complete a minimum of 500 paid direct patient contact hours in an approved health service environment prior to application
  • Complete the Graduate Record Exam (http://www.gre.org)
  • Complete all academic and non-academic entrance requirements of the Physician Assistant Studies program (http://www.pa.cphs.wayne.edu/admissions.php)
