Assistant Dean for Admissions, Christina Grabowski is Selected to Serve as a Facilitator for a AAMC Program on the Holistic Review Project

In 2010, the OUWB School of Medicine was privileged to host a team of facilitators from the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) to conduct a Holistic Review Workshop for the admissions committee and staff.

We are pleased to announce that Christina Grabowski, Assistant Dean for Medical School Admissions was selected by the AAMC in 2011 to serve as a admissions workshop facilitator for the Holistic Review Project. 

The goals of the Admissions workshop are to:

• Describe the potential benefits to be derived from matriculating a broadly diverse medical school class.

• Identify where in the admission process bias is most likely to emerge as well as possible measures to minimize its occurrence.

• Explain the six core principles of a holistic review admission process. 

• Describe where and how in the admission process holistic review practices can be integrated to enhance student body diversity.

• Articulate how the criteria used to screen, interview, and select applicants support the school’s mission and goals.

• Apply the Experience-Attributes-Metrics (E-A-M) Model to screen, interview, and select applicants.

At the workshops, she will share her knowledge with medical schools across the country and help them to recognize the potential benefits of using this process for consideration of medical school applicants.
