What to Know:

1. State Board Continuing Education Contact Hours (SBCEHs) cannot be used for Provisional Certificate renewal or Professional Education Certificate application until after September 1, 2013. At that time, applicants may use semester credit hours, SCECHs, or a combination of credit hours and SCECHs to renew their provisional or move to the professional. Please see more the Continuing Certification website for information about First Provisional Renewals, Second Provisional Renewals, and the Professional Certificate after September 1, 2013. 
2. SBCEHs may be used for renewal of the Professional Education Certificate and/or Administrative Certificate.  Please see “Renewal of a Professional Education Certificate” and/or “Renewal of an Administrative Certificate” from www.oakland.edu/sehs/certrenewal for details.
3. The conversion for SBCEHs to semester credit hours and vice versa is as follows:
   
   6 semester credit hours= 180 SCECHs
   30 SCECHs = 1 semester credit hour
