Why be an ATiBer?
- You'll learn useful stuff
- Employers will like you
- You'll get real-world experience
- You'll be part of a close team
Is ATiB hard?
Yes.
There's one course per semester, plus 10 hours per week working on company projects. You have to make a two-year commitment.
It's a lot of work. You'll hate it. And you'll love it.
Don't apply if you can't spend the time.
Who qualifies?
Any full-time undergraduate junior in the SBA with a GPA of more than 3.0. Any business major.
Each year, about 15 students are admitted to ATiB. Not everyone who applies is accepted.
Can MIS majors be in ATiB?
Yes! MIS majors in particular benefit from being in ATiB. They get to use both their MIS and ATiB skills in company projects.
Can part-time students be in ATiB?
No. You must be full-time. This is important in building camaraderie.
What's the work schedule?
The program is over two years. There's coursework each semester, and project work all but the first semester, like this:

Allow 10 hours per week for project work.
What about the summer?
ATiBers are often hired in the summer by the companies they so ATiB work for. You can arrange that yourself, or ATiB can help.
Can I work while taking ATiB courses?
You can work part-time, but no more than about 15 hours per week. More than that will interfere with your ATiB work.
If you can, get part-time work that's related to what you want to do. Your ATiB skills will make that easier.
How do I apply?
See the application page.Applications not being accepted currently.
What if I have other questions?
Contact Kieran Mathieson at mathieso@oakland.edu. Or talk to an ATiB student. You'll usually find one in the lab, EH 327.
