Abstract
This presentation will provide an overview of traffic safety data analysis, including:
sources of information, data uses (and misuses), and a brief discussion of
applied statistical methods most commonly used to analyze these data. A recently published predictive logistic
regression model using complex survey data from the National Automotive
Sampling System Crash worthiness Data System (NASS-CDS) will be presented. The purpose of this research was to develop a
clinical decision model to predict the probability of serious occupant injury
in crashed vehicles using telematics (e.g., OnStar) data.
