Graduate Student Policy
The resources on this website provide general policies and regulations that apply to graduate degree programs at Oakland University. It is the responsibility of the graduate student to comply with all the policies and regulations in the Graduate Program Catalog and satisfy all university, graduate and program requirements.

Exception to Graduate Policy Petitions
Graduate students are expected to follow the policies and regulation in the Graduate Catalog.  However, in unusual circumstances, an exception to policy may be requested.  Exceptions to policies contained in the Graduate Catalog require the student to initiate a written Petition of Exception. The petition must be approved by the faculty adviser, graduate program coordinator and/or GCOI and Graduate Study and Lifelong Learning.  Exceptions will not be granted because a student pleads ignorance, or contend that they were not informed of policies or regulations

Graduate Manuals and Guidelines
Beyond the Graduate Program Catalog, graduate students are expected to comply with academic requirements included in other OU publications.
