Fall Move-In

Moving to Oakland University's campus, whether for the first time, or as a returning student, can be fun and exciting. There is much to look forward to - new roommates, friends, the coming school year and living on your own. There is also much to think about as you prepare to move to campus. The following information will help make the move-in process as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Move-In Dates:

Newly Enrolled Freshmen and Transfer Students

Fall Check-in for new students is Sunday, August 29 in Vandenberg Lounge. Due to a limited number of staff and volunteers we can best serve you if you arrive as close to your designated arrival time as possible.

Hamlin Hall     Vandenberg Hall 
Floors 7, 8, 9  9 - 11 a.m.    Floors 6, 7  9 – 11 a.m. 
Floors 3, 5, 6         11 a.m. – 1 p.m.    Floors 4, 5  11 a.m. – 1 p.m. 
Floors 1, 2              1- 3 p.m.    Floors 2, 3  1 – 3 p.m. 

                                                                                                                                   
*Newly enrolled freshmen and transfer students assigned to Hill, Van Wagoner, or Fitzgerald may arrive any time during check-in hours between 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Returning Students

Monday, August 30 from 12 - 5 p.m. in Vandenberg Lounge
Tuesday, August 31 from 12 - 5 p.m. in Vandenberg Lounge
Wednesday, September 1 from 12 - 5 p.m. in 448 Hamlin Hall

The Grizz Pack

The Grizz Pack is a fall orientation program designed to assist new students in their transition to campus living at Oakland University. Grizz Pack Leaders will help move first-year students into their residence halls, engage students in Move-in Week activities, conduct campus tours, and act as a key peer link and support as the first-year students transition into their first week of college life.

Lofts
Click here for information about lofts. Lofts are not permitted in Hamlin Hall, but Hamlin provides loftable beds.
