Pre-Pharmacy Competitive Admission
What is Competitive Admission?
The competitive admission track in the pre-pharmacy or pre-health professional concentration areas is an option for students who do not meet the GPA and/or ACT admission criteria for Health Pro Start OU, for transfer students, or for students who are already enrolled at OU.
Competitive Admission Requirements
- Minimum 3.3 GPA.
- All program pre-requisites completed with the minimum GPA required.
- To be considered, the applicant must successfully complete the academic and non academic admission requirements and submit all of the appropriate applications.
- Students must declare their intent to enter into the doctor of pharmacy program by August 10, just prior to their sophomore year.
- For the Docotor of Pharmacy program, the student must take the PCAT (http://www.pcatweb.info/) on the October test date of their junior year, scoring above the 70th percentile on PCAT with no subscore (Writing, Verbal, Biology, Quantitative) below the 50th percentile.
- For the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program, the student must complete the Graduate Record Exam (http://www.gre.org/)
- The student must be interviewed by the program of their choice and be accepted for admission into the program.
Notification of formal admission into the doctor of pharmacy will be provided to the student before the completion of their junior year.
