Biography
My professional career expands the health and fitness field. I have worked in Cardiac Rehabilitation, Corporate Wellness, and Physical Rehabilitation. My early years were spent at Oakland University in the Meadowbrook Health Enhancement Institute (MBHEI) and later a variety of rehabilitation centers with a focus on neck and back rehabilitation. While at MBHEI I developed the smoking cessation program. I participated in a research project with Dr. Jarski on Stress Management which was funded by the State of Michigan. I was responsible for the worksite health screening program and presented on a variety of health topics to corporations and the community. I have worked as a Fitness Director for an older adult community. My responsibilities include health education, program development for wellness activities, and working with groups and individuals on fitness programs. I have been trained in the Arthritis Foundation’s Tai Chi course. My teaching career has been at Oakland University for the past 5 years as a part-time instructor and the past 2 years as a Special Lecturer. Primarily teaching health program implementation, stress management and health behavior courses. I also taught as an adjunct faculty as Oakland Community College in their Exercise Science Program.

Interests
I have a strong interest in the behavioral aspect of wellness. How do we get people to make healthy choices that are long lasting? I enjoy biking, running, and activities with my wife and kids.
