Biography
As an assistant researcher in the School of Health Sciences, I apply exercise physiologist academic credentials and clinical internship experience, coupled with a previous 21-year-long background in marketing research and statistical analysis in the business world, to projects within the field of health care research. In particular, I play a key role in studies conducted by the University’s nascent Prevention Research Center, which promotes community health through translational research and education that identify connections between lifestyle choices and disease development or remediation. Results from numerous investigations sponsored by the PRC have already been published in major journals and several presentations of findings have been delivered to local groups. As an adjunct instructor, I also furnish statistical consulting to graduate students in the School of Health Sciences and serve on master’s degree candidates’ thesis review committee. Additionally, I contribute statistical analytical support to medical researchers within area hospitals. My certifications include Clinical Exercise Specialist (American College of Sports Medicine), Personal Trainer (American Council on Exercise), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support qualification (American Heart Association).
Degrees

Interests
Professionally, topics involving cardiac rehabilitation, healthy eating, and sports performance enhancement attract my attention. Recreationally, I enjoy playing tennis and other racquet sports as well as cycling, running, downhill skiing, and golfing. In fact, my experience as a tennis teacher and competitor on a European pro circuit in the late 1970s foreshadowed my career change into the exercise science discipline 30 years later. Being a long-time alumnus and current faculty member of O.U., I am enthused by the University’s growth, especially the approaching development of its medical school.
