This activity-based course provides students with a comprehensive "learn-do" experience about how successful Lean kaizens are conducted in various industries. Students will:
- Learn Lean theory, rules, principles, concepts and tools as well as key supporting HRD policies and practices
- Experience expert guest lecturers, case studies, group exercises and simulations
- Conduct a kaizen (process improvement) team Lean workout of a real-world dysfunctional process
- Define the problem(s), determine the current condition, analyze the causal relationships, design the target condition and formulate an implementation plan to achieve the target condition
Instructor
Mark Doman received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Prior to joining Oakland University, he had 25 years of business experience with Ford and AT&T, where he held various executive positions in human resources, labor relations, and sales and service operations. He led several major organizational change initiatives throughout his career, including employee involvement, quality circles, TQM, Six Sigma, process reengineering, ISO 9000 and corporate restructuring.
