Founder and retired C.E.O. of Sandy Corporation, an organization that specializes in consulting, training, communication, motivation and evaluation. For the final decade of my quarter century career at Sandy, the company was listed on the American Stock Exchange.
Prior to Sandy Corp, spent 18 years at The Jam Handy Organization, the pioneer of distance learning, starting as a writer and planner and becoming Senior Vice President in charge of the company's work with General Motors and its Divisions.
Earned an A.B. at the University of Maryland, a J.D. at the University of Maryland Law School, passed the Maryland bar and promptly moved to Michigan to join Jam Handy. Attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, served as President of the Harvard Business School Club of Detroit, and spent four years on Harvard Business School International Alumni Council, the last year as Vice President. Author of "Forging the Productivity Partnership", published by McGraw Hill.
Served as Mayor of the City of Bloomfield Hills, President of the Detroit Chapter of the American Marketing Association, President of the Graphic Arts Council of the Detroit Institute of Arts. Currently serving on the Boards of Michigan Opera Theatre, Cranbrook Institute of Science, University of Michigan Institute of the Humanities, University of Michigan Press, and Asolo Rep Theatre, Sarasota.
