With the help of a massage therapist, massage therapy can be a powerful ally in your healthcare regimen. Campus Recreation offers half-hour and one-hour full body massages for students, Recreation Center members, and non-members.
Campus Recreation Therapist
Joanne Gregor is the current certified therapist on staff with the Department of Campus Recreation. Joanne offers Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Sports Massage for clients at the Recreation Center. Joanne is a graduate of the Ayur Veda Therapeutic Massage Foundation in Lake Orion and has completed more than 500 hours of training in therapeutic massage and body work. Her goal is to share her passion for massage and it's benefits with as many students, staff, faculty, and Recreation Center patrons as possible.
Seated Chair Massage
The therapist is available periodically at the Recreation Center in the social lounge area for drop-in seated chair sessions. Participants can pay for and book a timeslot at the Rec Center Welcome Center on a first-come, first-serve basis on the day-of for $1 per minute (5 minute minimum).

The Campus Recreation Massage Therapist can travel to your department, residence hall, or other on-campus location to provide seated chair massages for your group, staff, meeting, etc. Please contact Becky at 248-370-4910 or

One Hour or Half Hour Massage Appointments/Times
Appointments are made on an individual basis and are flexible. All appointments must be pre-scheduled with the therapis at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments must be paid for at the Welcome Center prior to receiving the massage.

Late/Cancellation Policy
Indivduals showing up late will have the remaining time of the apointment. However, an appointment is considered a no-show 10 minutes after the start time of the appointment if the therapist has not heard from the client. Appointments must be cancelled with 24 hours notice. Any no-show appointment will be charged a cancellation fee equal to the full amount of the visit.
