Richard Bergen
Richard A. Bergen is an engineering executive and registered Professional Engineer with master’s degree in business from the University of Detroit and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
During his formative years at Chevrolet Engineering-GM and Volkswagen of America, he acquired product design, release and test skills in brakes, tire ride and handling, noise and vibration, overall vehicle development and the expertise to manage group operations.
He managed the GM Sales account for Benteler Industries and helped to design a new tubular rear twist axle with Chevrolet. He coordinated the tooling and production readiness activity with Benteler AG in Germany, interfaced with all related GM groups and managed the eventual transfer of the assembly line from Germany to Benteler in Kalamazoo, Mich. As a Senior Program Manager for MSX International, he managed the MSX responsible with the Automotive Composites Consortium (a collaboration of GM, Ford, Chrysler and U.S. DOE). He facilitated the development and documentation of a P4-preform / Structural Reaction Injection Molding process for large structural parts. More recently, he was Sales Account Manager at Means Industries / TransForm Automotive.
Throughout his career with both vehicle and component manufacturers, he has developed not only the product engineering, management and sales skills necessary to succeed in various product lines, but also the creativity to develop new business.
Currently, he is Managing Director at Greywolf Management LLC, an engineering and management consulting company.
