Proper identification (
valid OU SpiritCard) must be shown at all times when entering the Rec Center building. Campus Recreation staff reserve the right to ask for additional forms of identification at any time. Members who have forgotten their SpiritCard will be charged the guest fee.
Guest Entry
Rec Center members and eligible self-sponsored guests who are 18 years of age or older may sign in up to two guests per visit at a cost of $8 (student) or $8 (non-student) per day per guest or $16 for a weekend pass, which is valid from Friday at 5 p.m. through closing on Sunday. If members wish to sign in more than two guests per visit, they must notify the Rec Center in advance and receive prior permission from a member of the Campus Recreation professional staff.
All guests who are 16 or older must show a valid photo ID, such as a driver’s license, and sign in at the Welcome Center. Members must remain in the building with their guests at all times and are responsible for the conduct of their guests.
Non-participant entry into the Rec Center for things such as tours, events and dining at the snack bar, does not require the purchase of a guest pass, however, some form of ID may be necessary.
Fraudulent Use of ID
It is a violation of the Recreation Center policy to fraudulently enter the Rec Center by using another person’s SpiritCard or Rec Center issued ID. It also is a violation to give a non-student member or non-member your SpiritCard or Recreation Center issued ID for the purpose of allowing them to enter the Rec Center.
Both parties involved (person whose name appears on the ID and the person attempting to enter) will receive an automatic suspension of the student/member’s Rec Center privileges for a period of two weeks.
The ID Advisory Board will review the case, and both parties will be notified if any changes in this sanction are advised. Upon notification by the ID Advisory Committee, the parties have the option to appeal to the Advisory Board or meet with the director of the facility.
