Building Bridges Summer Camp
Pre-College staff and PSA provide a 3 night residential summer camp for students in grades sixth through eighth grade and who are currently enrolled and attending an OU Charter School. Using an interdisciplinary approach, participants will engage in special learning activities taught by OU professors and graduate staff. Activities are designed to stimulate interest in science and engineering, cultural awareness as well as further develop higher order thinking and problem-solving skills. Camp experience will also include special enrichment workshops, tours of the campus, off-campus field trip, and fun recreational opportunities.
College Days
The College Day program is designed for pre-college students as an introduction to higher education. Students spend a day visiting Oakland University in order to learn about the feasibility of higher education and to meet faculty, staff and students.
OU Charter Schools are publicly funded, nonsectarian public schools that offer flexible alternatives to the traditional public school system. They provide choice for parents, students and teachers. The university endeavors to authorize schools that complement its own mission and goals.
