Waterford School District - ACE Program
The Academic and Character Education Program (ACE) is a vital after-school service that enables students to build interpersonal relationships with peers, create positive connections with adults and the school environments, and enhance social and academic learning.

Waterford School district collaborates with Oakland University within all 6 of its middle and high schools.  The program facilitates critical student awareness of self-worth and an increase of academic engagement through individual and small group instruction, and exclusive University activities and mentoring.  The collaboration of Oakland University with ACE has prompted conversations of expanding the program to reach more students and include additional activities.

The ACE (Academic and Character Education) program is comprised of ninth graders and students who attend the alternative education program in Waterford. This program strives to provide students with an opportunity to experience college life and be involved in hands-on activities to learn about different careers such as engineering, criminal law, photojournalism, art, theater, music, education, business, and computers.

The Waterford School District sends approximately 30 high school students bi-monthly to participate in activities at Oakland University. This opportunity increases
student' understanding of the admission process, college programs, campus resources, extra-curricular activities, and how to be successful in college.
