CEO's Investment Strategies
Yun (Ellen) Zhu
I would like to start a project studying the CEO’s ability to make corporate investment decisions by investigating their personal investment. The basic idea is that the CEO should be considered as capable of managing a corporation if this CEO invests smartly with his/her own wealth. In this case, the CEO deserves big corporate compensation. On the contrary, if the CEO makes bad personal investment decisions, he/she should be considered as incapable of managing a corporation. Therefore, the large compensation to these CEOs is the waste of corporation resources. The research scholar needs to collect CEO personal wealth data from Fortune magazine. I will provide the CEO compensation data and corporate performance data. The research scholar also needs to know some basic statistics such as t-test, signrank test, and multivariate regression.
