Academy-Award Documentary Filmmaker Louie Psihoyos (January 2012)
Cinema Studies and the College of Arts & Sciences will host director
Louie Psihoyos
on January 25, 2012, for a day of special events, including a 3pm "Conversation with the Director" in 204 O'Dowd Hall (OU students only) and a 7pm screening and post-film discussion/director Q&A of Oscar-winning documentary

(2009) in the Oakland Center Gold Rooms (open to the public). Please join us at one (or both!) of these great events.
OU Cinema Studies and English faculty participate in 2011-2012 CAS Film Series
In conjunction with the College of Arts & Sciences Water-theme film series, Oakland University faculty members Jeffrey Insko, Ross Melnick, Hunter Vaughan and Kyle Edwards introduced and moderated discussions for several on-campus public film screenings, including
Moby Dick
(1956),
Open Water
(2003),
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
(2004) and
The Cove
(2009), throughout the academic year.
OU Jewish Film Festival Preview (April 14-15, 2010 -- Meadow Brook Hall)
Oakland University will be hosting a special preview of the annual Detroit-area Jewish Film Festival on Wednesday, April 14, and Thursday, April 15. Screenings will be held at Meadow Brook Hall, with introductory remarks offered by OU faculty members.

Noted physicist and OU alumnus Dr. Kevin Grazier discusses his work as technical consultant on
Battlestar Galactica
and other television and film productions. Dr. Grazier’s presentation will be followed by an audience Q&A.
Independent Film Workshop Series (October/November, 2009 -- 5-7pm -- 202B O'Dowd Hall)
This four-week workshop series will feature individuals involved in the development, production, post-production and marketing of the critically acclaimed horror film
