Requirements for a Minor: Cinema Studies
The Cinema Studies minor requires a total of 24 credits, to be distributed in the following curriculum. Only courses in which the student has earned a grade of at least a 2.0 may be counted towards the Cinema Studies minor.
1. Three film core courses, 12 credits:
- CIN150 Introduction to Film, or ENG250 Film and Formal Analysis
- CIN252 Methods of Cinema Studies (writing intensive in major)
- CIN315 Film Theory and Criticism
2. Two film history courses, 8 credits, chosen from:
- CIN300 History of Film: The Silent Era
- CIN301 History of Film: The Sound Era to 1958
- CIN302 History of Film: The New Wave and Beyond
- CIN303 History of Film: Into the 21st Century
3. One critical studies in film course, 4 credits, chosen from:
